If you happen to have a few iPods in the family (of course each member needs one) or an iPod and an iPhone, this is something that you might want to have. The unit we got can charge 2 devices although Griffin Technology is coming out with a 4 dock model. There are 6 additional dock inserts in addition to the two already on the charger base so your iPod/iPhone will fit snugly. The inserts are numbered so you use the correct one although it is difficult to see because they are small raised numbers on the underside of each insert. This is difficult for the older crowd so hopefully Griffin will make it more prominent in the future. Also taking it out of the base isn't easy; no release button folks.
